A Video for Your Enjoyment

This morning, at 8:15, Garrett brought me the sunscreen and shouted over and over, "Pool! Pool! Pool!" Which really sounded more like, "pooah, pooah, pooah!" I managed to get him to eat breakfast, help me with laundry, play in his playroom, and run an errand with me before we went out to the pool. At 10:45 I drained the disgusting dog water and hosed out the hair. By 11:00 Garrett was happily playing in his beloved pool. He played until noon when I made him get out and have lunch, promising that we could go swimming again sometime soon.

He's been starting to repeat a lot of what we say now (Finally!) and some of his words are hilarious and/or very strange. Take, for example, his word for car which somehow manages to come out as though he is an Indian chief. How! Car=How. Sure. I mean, what's the difference? Aside from all the letters. I think I've mentioned that his word for juice or milk is Biss. Blankie, which used to be Dainty and then for a long time was nothing at all, is now Gankie. Food is Num Num. He learned how to open the refrigerator but he knows he's not supposed to. So, today I was upstairs and I heard the fridge open. I started down the stairs, ready to scold. He must have heard me coming because he slammed it shut. The yogurt in his hands was a dead giveaway. He came toward me saying, "num num num." I asked him where he got the yogurt from and he lifted his hand up as if to say, "I have no idea." Little liar.

I am sure there are more newish words but I can't remember them right now. I'll post as I recall them, more for my own remembrance than for your enlightenment. Oh, he says key all the time. That word, however, comes out perfectly.

  1. That is soooo funny that he told a lie. Now, I ask you, why do I find lying funny when it's not my kid? LOL.....looks like he loves the water just like you did.

  2. Observation #1: I see certain injury with future use of this pool. Possibly slipping at the top of the slide and plummeting over the side.
Observation #2: Child does what mother requested (for the most part). Mother replies, "Good job, kinda." That made me laugh.

  3. Lori: Looks like he is having a lot of fun with the pool. Now it makes getting the pool home worth it. I remember trying to hold a boat on the roof of our car driving from San Bdno. to San Diego. It is quite hard to do. Thanks for the video.
