Scrapbooking/Blogging

It's just that I was waaaay behind on scrapbooking. That's why I've been a blogging slacker this past week. Not only have I been dealing with lawyers and packing suitcases and lining up dog and cat sitters and trying to do our taxes, I've also been trying to catch up on Garrett's scrapbook because, otherwise, I fear it may never happen. I've heard stories about going from one to two children. And I'm scared of it! I may never sleep again. The world might spin crazily out of orbit. Two kids is hard. Two kids is twice as many as I'm used to.

Two kids require two baths and two outfits (or, if Matthew produces the volume of spit-up that Garrett did, eight or nine outfits) and two breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Two kids, while history proves that it can be done, is a scary sort of situation. So I have to get back to scrapbooking or Garrett will wonder what happened right around the time he turned two and why there are suddenly no more pages of his pictures.

  2. You will ask yourself everyday for about 6 months what in the world you have done, but then you will one day realize that it's now just routine. Remember, "Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow, for babies grow up I've learned to my sorrow. So go away cobwebs, dust go to sleep, I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep. You will have plenty of time to catch up on everything soon enough.

  4. Oh man, I won't even TELL you how far behind I am in my scrapbook. Ok, I will.......
A year and a half. Yup. Gasp.

I have to get on that. Something I'll do likely after the summer. Sigh. That's the reality.

  6. I agree with your mother - you will wonder what you've done and how in the world can you ever manage to get anything done. Then one day you'll look back, still not knowing how you ever managed, but knowing that God got you through it and you will be amazed.

  7. In response to J's comment....one day you will look back and realize YOUR babies are stressing out over how they are going to handle THEIR babies.

  8. I'm wondering how you will fair since you don't officially have to go though the "pregnancy brain" thing. My wager is you'll do pretty well. We'll have to talk about this in a few months. I'm very courious.

  9. Want to know when the last time was that I put a picture in a photo album? Well...it was before I was pregnant with Holly! About fourteen years ago! I have boxes and stacks of pictures. It really bothers me. I keep saying "this summer I will get this done". Yeah, right! Just don't get too far behind, it's really hard to catch up. It makes me sad that Holly doesn't have photo albums she can open up and see her baby pictures like the boys do. I'm so far behind I don't even know where to start, if I should make separate albums for each kid or just put all the pictures in chronological order, etc. I just never get started because it's so overwhelming! Thanks for reminding me of this. I think I'll go sort pictures now...

  10. What's a scrapbook?

Yeah, my kids don't have them. It's one less thing for me to stress over. They have giant "memory boxes", where I toss all their crap. Can't wait to go through that stuff with them someday.

  11. With your attention to detail I'm sure you'll figure out a way to get everything done you want to do. I have 3 baby books (pre-scrapbook era), the 1st is detailed, the 2nd is hit and miss and the 3rd I updated when he entered kindergarten... it happens! I kept photos and souvenirs organized in a container for each child and when they graduated high school I scrapbooked a collection for each one... well the first one is done - the second is hit and miss and the third... I should get started on soon (maybe I'll set myself a goal for his college graduation).
